I have been so fortunate to know this family! Valerie has been SO helpful in watching my kids here and there any time I needed to run to a birth or have time to myself on ocassion! Since they already had two boys, this little girl is such an excitement! Normally (aside from going off of intensity) I also go off of history…otherwise, I usually come to the hospital once my client is between 6 and 7. BUT if I KNOW there is a history of going fast, I absolutely take that into major consideration! This was just such a case! I knew that her last two came really fast, so as soon as I got the call that she had been contracting for an hour (around 1am) and that they were headed to Valley View Medical Center, I quickly grabbed my gear and ran. Never have I arrived BEFORE my clients, haha. But I did that night! They were a little confused when I went in and asked for Valerie 🙂 But as soon as she and Brandon got there in about 5 minutes I could see the intensity on her face! I knew it was going to go quickly. Sure enough, we weren’t there long before her water broke and she was ready to deliver! Beautiful little Lydia was born at 1:46am weighing 5lbs 10oz and a whopping 17 inches long. Adorable wisps of black hair, SO cute! Valerie was such a rock star in her unmedicated birth! So proud of this mama! And as always, Laurie Hansen CNM was also a pleasure to work with!
